Dive deep into local history and experience culture authentically … The Puster Valley offers a wealth of impressive castles that tell stories of the past, museums that showcase art and everyday life in a unique way, as well as deeply rooted customs and traditions that are still alive and celebrated all year round. Just nearby lies the fascinating Mansio Sebatum Museum in St. Lorenzen. Spread over three floors, it takes you into the fascinating settlement history of the Roman road station from which today’s municipality developed later. A worthwhile destination that can be reached on foot in about an hour. But that is just the beginning of your journey of discovery!

A place full of stories and art

The alpine town of Bruneck

The picturesque streets, exquisite shops, and cosy cafés will delight you. Join a guided tour of the town to immerse yourself in history and discover historical sights as well as modern art at the ECK Museum of Art. Bruneck Castle, which not only offers breathtaking panoramic views but also houses the Messner Mountain Museum (MMM) Ripa, stands high above the town. Here you can learn all about the world’s mountain peoples and how they have survived in harsh environments for thousands of years. Their adaptation to life in the mountains is truly fascinating.

At the summit of culture

The two Kronplatz museums

At the top of our local mountain, two exclusive museums await you: the Messner Mountain Museum (MMM) Corones focuses on traditional mountaineering and is knwon for its impressive architecture by Zaha Hadid. The Lumen Museum of Mountain Photography offers fascinating insights into the history and art of this discipline. It presents stunning photographs, tells stories about the fascination of the mountains, and regularly attracts visitors with exciting temporary exhibitions. Also open in winter!
