Wonderful winter holidays in South Tyrol

When temperatures drop and nature wraps itself in a sparkling gown, the Dolomites and nature parks offer unspoilt powder-covered slopes, perfect for ski touring. The winter silence is also a delight during winter hikes – with or without snowshoes. The Lake Braies is particularly recommended as it reveals a unique beauty in winter. If you prefer to stay nearby, check out our pond, which transforms into a magical ice surface. If the ice is thick enough (just ask us), you’re welcome to take a few laps on skates.

Pure Puster Valley ski fun

Ski holidays in South Tyrol

Our local mountain, the Kronplatz, is South Tyrol’s number-one ski mountain, featuring 120 km of slopes and 32 modern lifts. Will you dare to tackle the notorious “Black Five,” as the black slopes are called? Or would you rather enjoy a cosy end to the day with après-ski in one of the huts? Thanks to the connection to the Sellaronda, you can ski around the impressive Sella massif and cross four Dolomite passes in a single day (5–6 hours). Don’t miss the the Ski Circuit "Grande Guerra/Gebirgsjägertour“ for a truly unforgettable experience.

All good things come in fours

Toboggan runs nearby

You aren’t really the skiing or hiking type, but still want to enjoy the beauty of the winterlandscape on a lively ride in wintry surroundings? Then tobogganing is the perfect choice! Not too far away are the Tristenbach natural toboggan run in picturesque Weißenbach in the Tauferer Ahrntal, the sunny run from Pertingeralm to Terenten, and the Moarhofalm toboggan run in Hofern near Pfalzen. Sometimes some runs are even illuminated in the evenings, and many nearby huts offer regional specialties to enjoy before or after your descent. There are several toboggan rental points in the area, with the closest at the Kronplatz valley station.
